What to Expect When Working with Neesh Photography: A Client’s Guide

For this post, I thought it might be good to get back to the basics – so here is a step-by-step run through of what to expect when you book a shoot with Neesh Photography! I understand that getting in front of the camera can sometimes feel a little nerve-wracking, so I wanted to create this guide to walk you through exactly what you can expect, and detail anything you might like to know about the client-photographer process.

It All Starts with a Chat

Your journey with Neesh Photography usually begins when you reach out. Whether you find my website and use the Contact Us page or DM me on social media or call me, I’m always excited to hear from potential clients! I offer a variety of photography services, and these include Lifestyle Photography, Portrait Photography, Lifestyle Family Photography, Commercial Photography, and Event Photography. These categories branch out into more refined sorts of shoots, such as a pet portrait session, couples portraits, corporate events and personal ones. With a quick click around the website, it’s pretty clear I am open to almost any request.

From the very beginning, my goal is to understand your unique vision and needs. I’ll likely want to have a chat with you, whether it’s over the phone or through email, to really understand what you’re looking for. This is your chance to share your ideas, ask any questions you might have, and discuss logistics. You might like to request a quote, send a mood board or shot list, and mention any particular requests you have for our shoot. While I love when a potential client comes to me already knowing exactly what they’re after, I also love to work collaboratively and achieve the best possible results together. Planning Your Perfect Photoshoot Together

Once I have a good grasp of what you’re hoping for, we’ll start planning all the exciting details of your photoshoot. This collaborative process might involve discussing:

Location: We’ll decide on the perfect setting for your session. Whether it’s the comfort of your own home for a relaxed lifestyle family photography, or an interesting outdoor space for portraits that suit you, or the specific venue for your important event. Note that I don’t have my own studio—so if you want a studio vibe, tell me, and I’ll arrange your dream headshots, regardless of location.

Date and Time: We’ll work together to find a date and time that suits everyone involved.

Outfits and Styling: For portrait and family sessions, I can offer guidance and suggestions on what photographs well and help us achieve the specific look and feel you desire.

Specific Shots or Moments: If there are any particular shots or special moments you have in mind, please do share them with me!

3. The Photoshoot Day – Relax, Be Yourself, and Let’s Create!

On the day of your photoshoot, my main aim is to create a relaxed, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for you. I want you to feel at ease so that your true personality and genuine moments can shine through.

For Lifestyle Family Photography: I understand that photographing families, especially with children, requires patience and flexibility. My approach is to create a relaxed experience in your home where the kids feel comfortable and can be themselves. This allows me to capture those beautiful, unposed memories you’ll cherish forever.

For Portrait Photography: If you’re feeling a little nervous about being in front of the camera, please don’t worry! Nicole Pap shared that I was so helpful directing her, as it was her first time in front of the camera and that she felt very comfortable working with me. We can have an honest and relaxed conversation about any potential insecurities you have, any worries on your mind, and I’ll provide gentle guidance to help you look and feel your best. I won’t judge you; your comfort creates the best photos, and that will make us both happy.

For Commercial and Event Photography: I pride myself on my ability to work efficiently and discreetly, even in challenging environments and big events. As Wild Heart Creatives mentioned, Neesh Photography came in at the last minute to assist on their cabaret show, set in a very tricky to manage venue for photography, and I did it with ease and professionalism. I am able to work independently, and let you enjoy your event, but make sure to let me know of any particular photos you’d like taken at the event!

4. Post-Processing and Delivering Your Stunning Images

After the photoshoot is complete, the magic continues back in my editing suite. I carefully go through each image, selecting the best ones and editing them to ensure they are of the highest quality and truly reflect the vision we discussed. Please take the time to read my FAQ page, and note that I guarantee a maximum delivery turnaround of 2 weeks from our shoot date. This means that you will have your edited photographs within 2 weeks, no matter what – but unless it’s a 4+ hour shoot, or a major event, you can expect them to pop up in your inbox within the week. If you need your photos sooner than this, please raise your request ahead of time, so that I can plan and prepare for an extra speedy delivery.

You can expect a timely delivery of your beautifully edited images. I will provide you with clear and easy-to-follow instructions on how to access and download your high-resolution photos, ready for you to share, print, and treasure for years to come. Usually, I will send you a link to a folder of your images, along with an invoice if we did not pre-arrange payment, and a link to leave my business and Google review.

Post, Review & Stay in Touch!

Once you receive your beautifully edited images, you can share them online, print them if you wish, or use them for whatever purpose we discussed prior to the shoot. I always love to see a photograph take on a life of its own, whether it’s used on a business’ social media, a poster or magazine, or simply lives in your humble family photo album. Remember to tag me on socials and credit the photo where possible! It really helps spread the word and open up new opportunities.
